Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have studied the United Nations internet pages for days now - but cannot find any actual planned activities regarding the civil war in Sri Lanka. Both parties are pushing each other the guilt into their shoes of not being able to end up with peace for the people. Civilians are getting killed each day. Militaries and splitted groups are fighting a war, nobody else but may be themselves wants. At least the people do not want it.
There are more than 200 children lost at this point in time. Anyone just took them away from their homeplaces to do what with them? Whatever they want to force them for, they will force them to do something they are not supposed to do ... away from their families.
The people in Sri Lanka have faced many losses after the Tsunami. They would need a rest! The actual situation in Sri Lanka is troubleing the NGO's to do their important jobs, which is helping the people to get back to an almost normal life!
It seems, that the civil war in Sri Lanka has never really ended, while keep going on as a shadow war. When reading about the tamile history it becomes clear, that these folks never started a war, but escaped into the northern and eastern parts of the island, when their families were killed and their houses burnt...
Further developements had than taken place.
I do neither support the one nor the other side if it comes to war and killing people. Any war is simply not acceptable, because it hurts and kills civilians, who do just wish to live their lifes in peace and freedom. I kindly ask you, to try helping the forgetten people in Sri Lanka.
I keep reading the news in the worldwide Internet, but do not hear anything within the news regarding the Sri Lanka problems. There are reports each day about the Israel conflict! Why does none of the news agencies report about the trouble in Sri Lanka within TV and radio?
Once again, it is not a question of who did what. It is a question of saving life! The following link gives a sample of what is going on in the country: http://www.sankathi.org/vankaalai.html
(please turn the sound on when watching the video) It is showing a killed family! For me it does not really matter who that did, but that it happened at all and that it is going on similar like this, each day. Pictures like that must become history soon!!!
If you need further information on collected Press Releases please look here: https://www.sri-lanka-board.de
Once again, I beg you to come up with actions on your schedule, helping Sri Lanka to find a peaceful life in freedom.
Yours Sincerely,
Regina ***********
