After an amazing day of hiking Sigiriya & Pidurangala, we are spending the day in Polonnaruwa. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka, after Anuradhapura, and houses many well-preserved ruins and Buddha statues. Home to many former Sinhalese kings and once the resting place of the holy tooth relic of Buddha. You will be wandering through ancient palaces, picturesque shrines, and impressive temples dating back to the 11th century AD.
