Another two million doses of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine arrive in Sri Lanka

July 11, Colombo:
Another two million doses of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine have been brought to Sri Lanka from Beijing Sunday morning (July 11).
National carrier, SriLankan Airlines said two of its aircraft flew down with the 2 million doses of Covid 19 Sinopharm vaccines from Beijing and arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake this morning.

Rail travel will be increased from tomorrow

July 11, Colombo:
With the easing of traffic restrictions, the Department of Railways has taken steps to increase the number of train journeys by 12 from tomorrow (12), Deputy General Manager of Railways Gamini Senarath said.

Accordingly, the number of train journeys operating within the Western Province from tomorrow has been increased to 103.

Study shows special protection against Delta variant from Sinopharm vaccine - Prof. Jayasumana

July 12, Colombo:
State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana says that a local research has revealed that the China-manufactured Sinopharm vaccine offers special immunity towards the Delta variant of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

According to a research conducted in Sri Lanka, the Sinopharm vaccine has been shown to provide significant protection against the Delta variant of the Coronavirus and the report of the study will be released in the coming weeks, the State Minister said.

Sri Lanka receives second batch of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine

July 12, Colombo:
The second batch of 200,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine purchased by the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) arrived in Sri Lanka this morning.

The consignment of 26,000 doses of the US made Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in the early morning today.

Isolation lifted in many areas in nine districts

General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army, Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of Covid 19 Outbreak, announced that several areas in nine Districts were released from Isolation with effect from 06 AM on Wednesday (14).

Coronavirus update: 1,540 new COVID-19 cases identified Wednesday, total rises to 279,059

July 14, Colombo:
According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 1,540 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Wednesday.
Among the new cases reported Wednesday, 1,453 are from the New Year cluster and 87 are foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.

Sri Lanka Health Ministry announces updated quarantine measures for travelers arriving from overseas

July 16, Colombo:
The Director General of Health Services Thursday issued a special circular announcing the revised quarantine measures for travelers arriving in the country from overseas.

According to the new guidelines, all travelers of two years and above arriving in Sri Lanka should mandatorily carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test report in English language done within 72 hours prior to embarkation and Pre departure COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test report is not accepted.

COVID-19 restrictions further relaxed for several more activities

July 16, Colombo:
Sri Lanka’s Director-General of Health Services has issued new health guidelines further relaxing restrictions imposed to control COVID-19 epidemic with effect from Friday, July 16.

Director-General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena requested the public to strictly adhere to the health guidelines on activities permitted to reopen from today.

All state and private institutions are required to operate in accordance with the ‘New Normal’.

Sri Lanka receives over 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from COVAX

July 16, Colombo:
A chartered plane arrived in Sri Lanka Friday with more than 1.5 million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from the COVAX Facility.
Donated by the United States, the 1,500,100 doses of the vaccine come to Sri Lanka under the dose-sharing mechanism of COVAX facility promote equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines across the globe.

Und ich hoffte auf Besserung..

Es wurde beschlossen, den öffentlichen Verkehr zwischen den Provinzen vorübergehend auszusetzen, teilte das Verkehrsministerium heute mit.

Der Staatsminister für Personenverkehr, Dilum Amunugama, sagte, dass der Bus- und Zugverkehr für einen Zeitraum von zwei Wochen ausgesetzt wird.

Er sagte weiter, dass die Aussetzung ab morgen (17) in Kraft treten und bis zum 1. August bleiben wird.

Obwohl die inselweite Reisebeschränkung im Juni aufgehoben wurde, wurde das Reiseverbot zwischen den Provinzen bisher durchgesetzt.

Das Reiseverbot wurde teilweise gelockert, nur um den öffentlichen Verkehr von Beschäftigten im Bereich der wesentlichen Dienstleistungen zu ermöglichen.

Das Interprovinz-Reiseverbot bleibt jedoch für die breite Öffentlichkeit in Kraft.

Coronavirus update: 1,517 new COVID-19 cases identified Friday, total exceeds 282,060

July 16, Colombo:
According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 1,517 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Friday.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 9 pm Friday, a total of 282,060 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 23,528 infected patients are being treated at hospitals, while 25,871 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Ein Bekannter hat mich heute angerufen und erkundigt ob wir von den Fluten betroffen sind (im SL Fernsehn wurde davon berichtet),erwähnte er nebenbei das heute große Impfung in Boosa war und er auch seine erste bekam.
Nach welchen Kriterien Geimpft wird konnte er mir aber nicht sagen.
 
Nadee hat mir auch geschrieben gestern Abend....das im TV von den Unwettern in Deutschlsnd und vom Hochwasser in der Schweiz gezeigt wurde....

Four more animals suspected to be COVID positive at the Dehiwala zoo

July 18, Colombo:
The State Minister of Wildlife Protection Wimalaweera Dissanayake says four animals - two chimpanzees and two orangutans- are suspected to have infected with COVID-19 virus at the National Zoological Gardens in Dehiwela.

The Minister said the relevant officials have been advised to conduct further investigation to confirm whether the animals were infected with the disease.

Guten Morgen,
wie ich heute von unserem Guide Fernando erfahren habe, wurden gestern einzelne Bewohner in Marawila geimpft. Ab nächster Woche sollen wohl alle geimpft werden. Er schrieb mir auch, das wohl im August alles wieder geöffnet werden soll.
Er hat jetzt ein Cupcake- und Saftladen aus der Not heraus eröffnet. es gab auch einen Bericht über ihn im Ferhnseh. hier was er zur Impfung geschrieben hat. Video ist auf
