Coronavirus update: 351 new COVID-19 cases identified Saturday, total rises to 587,596

Jan 01, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 351 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Saturday.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 7:30 pm Saturday, a total of 587,596 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic.

While 11,874 infected patients are currently under medical care at hospitals and homes, 560,725 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Sri Lanka reports 24 Covid-19 deaths on Sunday, toll exceeds 15,000

Jan 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka Sunday reported 24 deaths due to COVID-19 after the figures were confirmed by the Director General of Health Services on Saturday, January 01.

Among the deaths reported today, 20 are of males and 04 of females. While 13 deaths are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group, 11 people in the 30-59 years age group have also succumbed to the disease.

Kinder zwischen 12-15 Jahren sollen ab Jan. 07 geimpft werden​


Die Impfkampagne für Kinder zwischen 12 und 15 Jahren wird am 7. Januar beginnen, sagte Gesundheitsminister Keheliya Rambukwella.

Er lud die Eltern ein, ihre Kinder zu schicken, um den Impfstoff zu bekommen, da es keinen Grund gab, Angst davor zu haben, den Impfstoff zu erhalten.

Sie werden mit dem Pfizer-Impfstoff geimpft und die Impfaktion soll in allen Krankenhäusern und MOH-Büros durchgeführt werden.

Die Impfkampagne für gesunde Kinder in der Altersgruppe von 16 bis 19 Jahren begann im vergangenen Oktober.

Auch Sri Lanka erwartet wieder steigende Zahlen der Infektionen in den kommenden 2 Wochen. Omikron wurde bereits auf der Insel nachgewiesen und wird sich ausbreiten. Die Regierung drängt darauf, die Menschen zur 3. Impfung, obwohl noch lange nicht alle Menschen ihre 1. und 2. Impfung haben.

So ist es. Und die mit dem Chinesenimpfstoff geimpften werden jetzt auch krank (Delta) habe ich mir sagen lassen. Weil der Impfstoff nichts taugt.

Es gibt vieeeel zu wenig Impfstoff, davon liest man aber nichts.

Die Zeitungen schreiben das was man ihnen sagt.

Sri Lanka reports 14 Covid-19 deaths on Monday, toll rises to 15,313

Jan 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka Monday reported 14 deaths due to COVID-19 after the figures were confirmed by the Director General of Health Services on Sunday, January 23.
Among the deaths reported today, are 08 males and 06 females. While 6 deaths are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group, 7 people in the 30-59 years age group and a male in the below 30 years age group have also succumbed to the disease.

Ein weiteres Virus breitet sich derzeit in Sri Lanka aus, abgesehen vom Coronavirus, hat die Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) gewarnt.

GMOA-Mitglied Dr. Prasad Colombage sagte, dass sich derzeit eine Reihe von Viren im Land ausbreiten.

Mit der Aussage, dass sich neben COVID-19 auch ein ähnliches Virus ausbreitet, sagte er, auf der anderen Seite ist auch das Dengue-Virus auf dem Vormarsch.

Er sagte, dass das Land aufgrund der Ausbreitung des neuen Virus auf eine ernste Situation zusteuert.

Dies wurde gestern (27) gegenüber The Morning vom Kommunikationsdirektor des Gesundheitsministeriums, dem stellvertretenden Generaldirektor der öffentlichen Gesundheitsdienste und der Leiterin der Abteilung für Katastrophenvorsorge und -reaktion Dr. Hemantha Herath bestätigt, die sagte, dass dies aufgrund der steigenden Zahl von Covid-19-Infektionen in Betracht gezogen werde.

3M Doses of Sinopharm Nearing Expiry - Dr. Weerasinghe​


General Secretary of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka (CPSL) Dr. G. Weerasinghe claimed there are 3 million doses of unused Sinopharm vaccines nearing the date of expiry.

He said out of a stock of 26 million Sinopharm vaccines only 23 million had been administered and the balance is awaiting disposal upon the date of expiry.

“They have already requested the Health Ministry to administer them to those who have still not received the dose.

“A sizeable stock of Pfizer vaccines too, has not been used to date and it is a pity to waste large stocks of vaccines that had been acquired at a considerable cost,” said Dr. Weerasinghe.

Health Guidelines extended until the 28th of February.

Jan 31, Colombo: The Director General of Health Services has taken steps to extend the existing Health Guidelines Circular to 28 February.

Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director General of Health Services of the Ministry of Health, said that the Health Guideline Circular, which was issued in December until January 31, has been extended to February 28.

Zugang zu öffentlichen Plätzen ab dem 30. April für nicht vollständig geimpfte Personen verboten​


Sri Lankas Gesundheitsminister hat eine außerordentliche Gazette herausgegeben, um Menschen, die nicht vollständig gegen Covid-19 geimpft sind, den Zutritt zu öffentlichen Orten zu verbieten.

Dementsprechend ist der Impfnachweis ab dem 30. April 2022 für den Besuch öffentlicher Plätze verpflichtend.

Die Bekanntmachung des Amtsblatts hat einen öffentlichen Ort definiert als "jeden Ort oder ein Verkehrsmittel, das im öffentlichen Verkehr verwendet wird und zu dem die Öffentlichkeit Zugang hat, ob von Rechts wegen oder nicht, ob gegen Bezahlung oder nicht, ob auf Einladung oder nicht".

In der Zwischenzeit gilt eine Person, die die erforderlichen Dosen der relevanten Impfung gemäß den Angaben des Generaldirektors für Gesundheitsdienste erhalten hat, als vollständig geimpfte Person....
