Dec 03, Colombo: The Mannar United Fisheries Association says that 65 boats anchored in the Mannar Pesalai fishing harbor were swept away by the cyclone this morning (03).

Cyclone Burevi moving away from Sri Lanka

Dec 03, Colombo: Cyclone Burevi is currently leaving Sri Lanka off the coast of Illuppaikadavai in Mannar and will emerge into Gulf of Mannar by noon today, the Meteorology Department said.

Mehr als 12.000 Betroffene vom Zyklon 'Burevi'​

Nach Angaben des Katastrophenmanagementzentrums (DMC) sind insgesamt 12.252 Menschen vom Zyklon "Burevi" betroffen, der gestern Abend die Nordostküste Sri Lankas überquerte (02).

In der Zwischenzeit wird eine Person aus Jaffna, die zum Angeln ging, als vermisst gemeldet, so die DMC weiter.

Fünfzehn Häuser wurden durch den Zyklonsturm vollständig zerstört, während 192 weitere Häuser teilweise beschädigt wurden.
