Negombo ist die bedeutendste Badestation an der Küste nördlich von Colombo. Hier inmitten alter Kirchen und Befestigungsanlagen aus dem 17. Jh. sind in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten sind
entlang des Strandes Dutzende und aber Dutzende von Hotels und Gasthäusern buchstäblich aus dem Boden gesprungen. Neben Luxushotels sehr kleine, einfache Absteigen. Was von dereinstigen Fischersiedlung übrig geblieben ist, können Sie an der Lagune mit ihren vielen einfachen Auslegerbooten entdecken.
Negombo liegt 40 km nördlich von Colombo, nahe des internationalen Flughafens am Ende der gleichnamigen Lagune. Lange, feinsandige Strände laden zu längeren Spaziergängen, Wan-derungen und vor allem zum Baden ein. Mit seinen vielen Geschäften, Restaurants und Bars bietet Ihnen das Ortszentrum mannigfaltige Einkaufs- und Unterhaltungsgelegenheiten.
