Intercity train derails after colliding with three wild elephants in Habarana

Jan 13, Colombo: One wild elephant was killed after it was hit by the intercity train in Hathares Kotuwa, Habarana on Friday (13) morning.
The Railway Control Room said the Batticaloa Trincomalee train plying to Colombo has to be temporarily suspended as the train had derailed after colliding with the elephants between Habarana and Galoya.
