n other words - The Festival of the Tooth. The celebration starts at the Temple Of Tooth which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. The festival is happening every year in July/August for 2 weeks. It is considered as the epitome of the country’s Buddhist celebrations and is blessed with divinity. In the parade, you can experience traditional local dances, elephants with colorful dresses, fire shows, and more! Incredible experience to remember from the special day in Sri Lanka

Tourists At Kandy Perahera For The First Time | The Festival Of The Tooth | Sri Lanka​

In this video we get to enjoy Sri Lanka’s biggest festival The Kandy Esala Perahera also known as The Festival of the Tooth it is a festival held in July and August in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha, which is housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. It was such an amazing experience and free to enjoy, the is loads of street venders selling food and you can also pay to have a seat, we decided not to get a seat and get more involved in the festival. The festival was such much fun family and friends were gather to enjoy this celebration. We saw Fire dances, elephants and some amazing dancing it was such an uquiqe experience we are so lucky we get to see so much of the world.

Obwohl viel weniger Touristen dabei waren, ist es jedes mal ein tolles Erlebnis.
