Bus fare increased by 35% - Minimum fare Rs. 27

Apr 19, Colombo: Steps have been taken to increase bus fares by 35% from midnight Tuesday.

The Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama stated at the Ministry of Transport today (19) that with the increase in fuel prices, bus fares will increase by a minimum.

Accordingly, the total bus fare will be increased by 35% and the minimum bus fare of 20.00 rupees will be increased to 27.00 rupees, the Minister said.

He further said that no increase in train fares will be made at this time.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Bus fares will be increased by 22%, and the minimum fare will be Rs. 40/- with effect from 1st of July, said the National Transport Commission on Thursday (30).

The price hike will apply to both Sri Lanka Transport Board & Private Bus Operators. The previous minimum fare was Rs. 32/-.

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Das Joint Transport Trade Union Center erklärte, dass alle Expressway-Busse ab Sonntag (20.) nicht mehr fahren werden.

Der Vorsitzende des Joint Transport Trade Union Center, Sampath Ranasinghe, sagte gegenüber News 1st, dass dieser Schritt gegen die Entscheidung gerichtet sei, eine Ausschreibungsgebühr von Rs. 200.000/- pro Monat zu erheben.

Er wies darauf hin, dass diese Gebühr zeitweise auf Rs. 300.000/- ansteigt und von einer mafiösen Gruppe betrieben wird.

Ein Schnellstraßen-Busfahrschein könne um Rs. 300/- ermäßigt werden, und der Vorteil könne an die Fahrgäste weitergegeben werden.

Semi-Luxury bus services to be terminated from May 2023​

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Transport Commission said that the existing Semi-Luxury Bus Service will cease operations from May 2023.

Director General of the National Transport Commission Commander (Rtd) Dr. Nilan Miranda told News 1st that the Semi-Luxury Bus Service will be converted to a normal service or a luxury service.

He said the owners of the Semi-Luxury Bus Service have already been informed about terminating the service.

"Semi Luxury bus services can convert their service to a normal service or luxury service until the 31st of May without any additional charge," he added.

The Director General of the NTC said that the Sri Lanka Transport Board was also informed to convert Semi-Luxury Bus Services to normal service or Luxury Service.

Danke für die Info. Ich schätze, der Bus braucht ca. 10 Stunden und ist ca. 06:00 am Flughafen bzw. in Arugambay.
