No power cuts for next three months - PUCSL chairman
Feb 15, Colombo: Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission this afternoon (15) has assured that there will be no power cuts in the next three months.
The decision not to cut power has been taken on the assumptions of supply of fuel to the CEB, integration of private generators into the national grid and saving of energy by consumers, he said.
Meanwhile, there will be no power cuts if a 100 MW generator fails for any reason, but a power cut for one hour per day will be imposed if a 200 MW generator fails and If a 300 MW generator goes out of order the power will have to be cut for an hour and a half a day, the PUCSL Chairman added.
