Wir sind in Sri Lanka! Bereits jetzt können wir sagen - das Land ist unglaublich & die Leute hier vor Ort sind wahnsinnig gastfreundlich. Eine Landschaft ist schöner als die Andere und wir können es kaum abwarten so Richtig ins nächste Abenteuer zu starten!.

Sri Lanka • Anreise & Zugfahrt ( Preise und Tipps )​


Wir fliegen von #Thailand nach #SriLanka und nehmen dort ein Tag nach der Ankunft den #Zug von #Colombo nach #Hikkaduwa in den Süden an der Westküste entlang. Die für uns bis dato die schönste Zugfahrt, die wir je hatten.

Welcome to SRI LANKA! Finally, we made it to Asia, and we are over the moon! The first week we will spend on adapting to the new reality. We start from Negombo - the fishermen's town where we will take a rickshaw tour around the city. (To be honest, usually, we wouldn't do it as we could easily visit those places ourselves, but we wanted to help a lovely tuk-tuk driver as not many tourists here). We paid 2500 rupees (£9.18) and were able to see some of the main points in the city. Also, the church which was destroyed (and is currently rebuilt) by the terrorist attack in 2019. We will also take you to Colombo - the capital city of Sri Lanka. We mainly went there to check the situation on the public transport, but also was able to walk around and visit some cool places!

 

London to Sri Lanka's South Coast (Midigama) | Transport options and visa​


I've heard a lot of good things about Sri Lanka, so decided to spend a few months there! I thought it would be useful to make a vlog about the travel options from Colombo (which is where most flights land) to the South Coast of Sri Lanka. I was basing myself in Midigama to start off with, but the timings/costs should give you a general idea of your options even if you're staying in Unawatuna, Ahangama, Midigama, Hikkaduwa or any of the other popular south coast destinations. Why the south coast? During the European winter months, the best surf in Sri Lanka is in the South Coast. Taxi from Colombo to Midigama (2.5 hours) - 8,500 Sri Lanka Rupees (Rs) - Can range between 7,000 Rs and 10,000 Rs. - $42 USD - £31 GBP - €37 EUR Train from Colombo to Midigama (4 hours) - 250 Rs - $1.23 USD - £0.91 GBP - €1.1 EUR Bus from Colombo to Midigama (4-6 hours) - I don't know the exact price for this but it is likely to be the same as the train. If you have surfboards though, prepare to pay for two tickets! Sri Lanka ETA Visa You can get the ETA on arrival visa when you land in Colombo, but it is much easier to just do it online. It takes 1-2 days to get your confirmation back and costs $36 USD. Link: https://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/visainf... Extending your Sri Lanka ETA Visa This costs $100 USD and you get an extra 2 months. You can use an agent if you need to get it done quicker, but it is relatively easy to apply online. Bear in mind though that you need to register and upload documents. These then need to be approved, they then send you a payment link and your payment needs to be accepted before you get confirmation. As such, it can take up to 5 working days so extend your visa well in advance if you're going to be spending more time in Sri Lanka. Elefantentour durch Sri Lanka // Safari im Udawalawe Nationalpark & Pinnawela Elefantenwaisenhaus​


Auch wenn Corona/CoVid nach wie vor das Reisen in Asien sehr erschwert, sollte nach meiner Sommerpause in Deutschland mein nächstes Ziel Sri Lanka sein. Über einen Monat war ich in diesem wunderschönen Land unterwegs. Besonders gefallen haben mir dabei die Ausflüge, bei denen ich meine Lieblingstiere - Elefanten - beobachten konnte! Zum einen war ich hierfür auf Safari im Udawalawe Nationalpark, zum anderen im Elefantenwaisenhaus (Elephant Orphanage) in Pinnawela.

Our SHOCKING First 48 Hours In Sri Lanka​


After spending a day in Galle and its surroundings, we made our way south to Yala National Park. We didn't really know what to expect from it, but all of a sudden we were thrown in a safari car and heading into the park to look for elephants, crocodiles, and leopards! We then took the long and scary drive at night through the jungle to get to the mountain town of Ella. Stay tuned for our next video, in which we'll take one of the most famous train rides in the world!

8000 Kilometer von Berlin entfernt, ein Abenteuer-Urlaub in Sri Lanka. Eine lange Reise in eine andere Kultur. Wir nehmen euch mit in diesem langen Vlog und zeigen euch die Orte die wir gesehen haben. Galle, Wadduwa, unsere Hotels, die Strände die wir besucht haben und das leckere Essen was wir gegönnt haben. Ob Safari im National Park, wilde Tiere oder einfach eine fremde Atmosphäre, Sri Lanka ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert.
