Thu, Apr 26, 2018, 09:17 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Apr 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka has declared a National Vesak Week from April 26th to May 2nd to mark the most significant event for Buddhists all over the world.
All arrangements have been finalized to hold the State Vesak Festival- 2018 at the Devagiri Raja Maha Vihara in Bingiriya, Kurunegala on April 28th under the patronage of the President Maithripala Sirisena.

Sri Lanka begins to celebrate largest Buddhist festival today

The Sri Lankan government has declared April 29th and 30th as Vesak days and the period from April 26th to May 2nd as Vesak Week.

'Buddha Rashmi' National Vesak Zone and exposition of Sacred Sarnath relics from tomorrow

Apr 28, Colombo: : The annual Buddha Rashmi National Vesak Zone 2018 at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo will be held from 29 April to 2nd May.
The annual Buddha Rashmi National Vesak Zone organized by the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple and the exposition of Sacred Sarnath relics from India and other relics at the Temple Trees will be inaugurated by the President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow at 7:00 pm.

Most Sacred Buddha Relics from Pakistan arrive in Sri Lanka

Sun, Apr 29, 2018, 06:44 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka. Apr 29, Colombo: The most sacred Buddha relics from Taxila Museum in Pakistan were brought to Sri Lanka yesterday for public exposition in connection with the Annual Buddha Rashmi National Vesak Festival.
Sri Lankan Minister for Buddha Sasana, Gamini Jayawickrema Perera along and High Commissioner of Pakistan Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat received the sacred Relics brought by the Curator of Taxila Museum in Pakistan In order to present the richest Buddhist historical legacy to the Sri Lankan people.
