Mar 14, Colombo: Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa says that Buddhists should be compelled to go to temples at least one day a week or for Poya Day.
“As Buddhists, we should make it compulsory to go to the temple one day a week or at least for Poya,” Prime Minister Rajapaksa said.
Participating in the unveiling of the Pinnacle of the 60 feet high Golden Fenced Chaitya at the Madampe Galmuruwa Sri Sunandarama Pirivena in Puttalam Sunday (14), the Premier said sending Buddhist children to Dhamma schools should also be made compulsory.
