China’s Hainan Airlines interested in managing SriLankan: report

July 20, 2016 (LBO) – China’s largest privately-owned air transport firm, Hainan Airlines Company Limited (HNA), is one of the companies interested in managing SriLankan Airlines, a media report said.
EOIs were sought this month by National Savings Bank Fund Management Co Ltd as the lead manager for the reorientation of Sri Lanka Airlines Limited and Mihin Lanka (Private) limited.

und jetzt verkaufen sie noch das letzte Hemd? Hafen, Autobahn, Wasser, Strom und Airline. Bald können die Ch. ihre Flagge mit auf SL Flagge pinseln. So einfach ist das über ein kleines Land zu herrschen, ohne einzumaschieren. Wann wacht Srilanka auf?

Na, einfach nur verkaufen oder andere machen zu lassen ist eben wesentlich einfacher als selber aktiv zu werden und etwas zu tun. Wer beide Länder kennt, wird z.B. schnell feststellen, dass Chinesen (gerade die der Ostküste) wesentlich fleißiger und ehrgeiziger sind als ein Singhalese. Ausnahmen gibt es natürlich überall, wie ich gerade heute vor wenigen Stunden wieder erfahren habe... Es gibt allerdings noch viele, viele andere Gründe als den o.g. mehr...

Among the measures was to immediately lease one of the Airbus aircraft to Pakistan and the Minister said the SriLankan Airlines was about to conclude a deal with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to lease out one Airbus A330. Leasing out three more Airbus aircraft will follow, he added. The aircraft will be operated for PIA by Sri Lankan crew and it will be based in London. It will fly to Islamabad and Lahore and we are also in talks to give them three more Airbus A330 planes," Hashim told reporters.
Also the flights in the loss making long haul routes including flights to Frankfurt, Paris and Rome will be cancelled and the flights used in those routes will be leased to other leading airlines.

mir faellt da gerade eine schoene Verschwoerungstheorie ein.

Der chinesische Einfluss auf die ceylonesische Infrastruktur ist schon sehr gross.
Siehe Colombo Habour City und dann Hambantota und der dazugehoerige Flughafen.
Da ist es doch ganz natuerlich, dass den Chinesen das Management von Srilankan sehr gelegen kommt. Die Fluglinie ist Pleite, der Chinese wird mit Geld aushelfen und Anteile kaufen. Und waehrend der naechsten Cricket-Meisterschaft werden dann auch noch die letzten Anteile uebernommen. Lasst es mich wissen, wenn an Bord von Srilankan chinesische Zigaretten angeboten werden.
Dann passt doch alles wieder. Die Chinesen, die nach Sri Lanka fliegen werden ueber Hambantota einschweben und im Sueden und Osten der Insel verteilt. Irgend wann wird dem Chinesen schon einfallen, dass der Singalese auf Sri Lanka nur stoert und auch dafuer wird er schon eine langfristige Idee haben. Ein Problem haben die Chinesen dann noch, wie an SriLanka Railway zu kommen. Da haben die Inder schon kraeftig investiert.

Pakistan national carrier confirms talks with SriLankan on leasing four A330s

Sun, Jul 24, 2016, 11:42 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.July 24, Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) said it is in negotiations with the SriLankan Airlines for the wet lease of four wide-bodied A-330 aircraft.
Pakistan's national carrier had advertised for leasing wide body aircraft last month and Sri Lanka's national carrier expressed interest in leasing out its four new wide body A-330 aircraft to PIA, the airline said in a statement.
A high-level team of PIA led by CEO, Mr. Bernd Hildenbrand recently visited Colombo to inspect these aircraft and to negotiate a contract, PIA said. With the wet lease of the four aircraft, PIA will also get the services of its accompanying crew.

Pakistan national carrier signs contract with SriLankan for lease of three A-330s

Fri, Jul 29, 2016, 06:09 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.July 29, Colombo: Pakistan's national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has formalized wet leasing of three A-330 aircraft from SriLankan Airlines.
PIA CEO, Bernd Hildebrand signed the contract with Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines, Ajith Dias and CEO Capt. Suren Ratwatte at a ceremony held in Colombo on Friday said a press release.
The contract has materialized after a series of negotiations between the two sides. First of these aircraft would he delivered during the next week, while the rest in following months.
