COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka's Catholic Church rejected Former President Maithripala Sirisena's request for forgiveness on Wednesday (01).
Views regarding this were expressed at a media briefing held in Colombo today.
"One must seek forgiveness after accepting his mistake," Reverend Father Cyril Gamini stated. "However former President Maithripala Sirisena hasn't accepted his mistake," he went on to explain. Rev. Father Cyril Gamini stated that although the Supreme Court verdict clearly states he is at fault, the former President is saying he did no wrong and he is only at fault because of the failures of those he appointed.
