German national arrested with tarantulas

A German national was arrested with illegally kept tarantulas in Kirimeti Oya, Balangoda, the Police Media Unit told CeylonToday Online.

The officials attached to the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWLC) have taken the suspect into custody based on a tip-off and handed him over to the police. The suspect had been keeping the tarantulas in his possession without a licence.

DWLC officials have also found carcases of two dead tarantulas.

The suspect will be produced before the Balangoda Magistrate.

Ging es da um Geld, was zu verdienen ist, oder um die eigene Freude an der Haltung dieser Tiere ? Billig wird dieser Urlaub nun sicher nicht mehr.

Da hält sich mein Mitleid in Grenzen. Egal um was es ging, die Strafe hat er verdient und die darf ruhig weh tun, finde ich jedenfalls.

Diesmal hat es 3 Bulgaren erwischt. Man wollte am ATM mit gefälschten Karten Geld abheben.
