Jaffna diocese, which organises the annual St Antony’s festival at Katchatheevu islet in the Palk Bay, has extended invitation to the Sivaganga diocese to take part with Indian pilgrims in the festival scheduled to be held on March 15 and 16.

Mar 16, Colombo: The annual two-day festival at St. Anthony's Church in Sri Lanka's Katchatheevu island was held today in a grand scale and over 2100 Indian devotees attended the revered event in addition to 6,500 Sri Lankan devotees, according to the Sri Lanka Navy.

Katchatheevu pilgrims return safely

All the 2,229 pilgrims, including 369 women, 66 children and lone transpersons, returned safely after taking part in the two-day annual St. Antony’s Church festival and offering worship in Katchatheevu islet on Saturday.
