Mon, Apr 10, 2017, 10:58 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.Apr 10, Colombo: SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, has launched its inaugural flight to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, joining its parent carrier in serving the route.
The inaugural MI428 flight departed at 0850 from Singapore Changi Airport and arrived at Colombo�s Bandaranaike International Airport at 1005, last Friday.
SilkAir will operate the route with three flights per week, taking over Singapore Airlines' service as the SIA group further consolidates resources.
The thrice-weekly flights to Colombo are scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with same-day returning flights operating as MI427. The services will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, featuring both Business Class and Economy Class cabins.
