Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Department has decided to close Yala National Park for the visitors during the dry month of September.
Accordingly, the country's best known nature reserve will be closed for visitors from September 01 to 30.
The Department says the closure of park during the driest period of the year gives more freedom to the animals to roam free seeking water and food.
It is also expected that the environment of the park will be normalized back during the closure from the damages caused by the tourists and vehicles.
