Ich hab da aber von 1987 etwas passendes zum Thema gefunden.

Interessant, ist mir noch nie aufgefallen:

Damit mehr Menschen während der Fahrt in den sehr beliebten, offenen Türen des Zuges stehen konnten, hatte man in der Mitte des Waggons eine zusätzliche Türe eingebaut. (am Anfang des Videos bei 0:50 gut zu sehen)

Sri Lanka's Iconic Yal Devi train to travel to Kankasanthurai on January 02

Mon, Dec 29, 2014, 10:55 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.Dec 29, Colombo: Sri Lanka's famous north-bound Yal Devi train will begin services to Kankasanthurai, the last station of the Northern Line, on January 02, Sri Lanka Railways (SLR) says.
The iconic train resumed carrying passengers to Jaffna in October this year after a 24-year lapse and the 21-km long Jaffna to Kankasanthurai segment was still under construction when the train resumed plying to Jaffna.
Sri Lanka Railways General Manager V. Amaratunga said the Yal Devi will start its journey to the furthest corner of the North at a special opening ceremony on the January 2nd under the patronage of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Between Jaffna and Kankasanthurai along with the Kokavil, Kondavil and Chunnakam main train stops there are five more sub train stops.
According to the official starting from January 2nd it is possible to travel from Matara to Kankasanthurai.

Im Jahr 2013 (Oktober) konnte man auf der Jaffna - Kankasanthurai Road (B16) nur bis kurz hinter den Maviddapuram Tempel - Abzweig Keerimalai Road - fahren. Dann kam ein Checkpoint und nur mit Sondergenehmigung durfte man passieren. Die hatte ich leider nicht. Die Bahnhöfe Maviddapuram und Kankasanthurai lagen damals noch in der Hochsicherheitszone.

Spätestens zu Eröffnung des letzten Teilstückes der Eisenbahn sollte das Gebiet für die Öffentlichkeit freigegeben werden - sein.

Das wären 5 + 5 = 10 Bahnhöfe. Es sind aber nur neun.
Da ist der Zeitung colombopage ein Fehler unterlaufen.

There are three main stations in Jaffna, Chunnakam and Kankesanthurai and six other sub stations in Kokuvil, Kondavil, Inuvil, Chunnakam, Mallakam, Tellippalai and Maviddapuram located on the segment from Jaffna to Kankesanthurai.
