Mönche und andere religiöse Führer werden zuerst geimpft ! Warum eigentlich ?

Premierminister Mahinda Rajapaksa hat die Gesundheitsbehörden angewiesen, die buddhistischen Mönche und andere religiöse Führer sofort gegen Covid-19 zu impfen.
Dementsprechend wird heute (20) mit der Impfung buddhistischer Mönche im Distrikt Kandy begonnen.
Der Premierminister hat den Sekretär des Ministeriums für Buddhasasana, religiöse und kulturelle Angelegenheiten Prof. Kapila Gunawardena angewiesen, unverzüglich Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um den Klerus zu impfen.
Dementsprechend wird der Impfstoff bald an alle Mönche und andere religiöse Führer verteilt werden, die die gesamte Insel abdecken.
Im Rahmen dieses Programms wird die Covid-Impfung morgen an die Mönche im Bezirk Badulla (21) vergeben.

Wir können ja zum Impftourismus nach SL fliegen.Für ein paar €werden bestimmt ein paar Dosen locker gemacht.
Da mein Mann über 60 aber kerngesund ist wird er wohl als letzter geimpft,ich ü 50 aber Diabetis 2 Typ werde wohl bei der 2 Impfung dabei sein.Das heißt dann wohl,ich werde im Dezember alleine nach Sri Lanka fliegen ,das wird dann mal wieder ein Urlaub wie vor 33 Jahren.,Party,Party,lange schlafen ect.

Tourism Minister requests President to give priority to factory workers in COVID vaccination

Feb 28, Colombo: Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has made a request to the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to give priority to all factory workers in the country in administering the Covid vaccine.

He also pointed out that the provision of the vaccine should be expedited to those who directly contributed to the production process in the country despite the Covid epidemic.

There are 14 Free Trade Zones under the Board of Investment (BOI) islandwide. In addition, there are industrial parks. There are more than 250 factories located in the 14 Free Trade Zones alone, with over 130,000 employees.

Sri Lanka ready to consider single-shot vaccine​

Sri Lanka is ready to consider a singleshot vaccine which has been given approval in the US.
US regulators have formally approved the single-shot Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine.
Health Ministry sources told Daily Mirror that if the vaccine is given approval by the local regulator it will be considered. The vaccine is set to be cost-effective and can be stored in a refrigerator instead of a freezer.
However, so far the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has not received an application seeking approval for the single-shot Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine.

Fast eine halbe Million Sri Lankaner bis Sonntag geimpft​

Sri Lanka hat bis Ende Februar fast eine halbe Million Menschen geimpft.
Die stellvertretende Generaldirektorin für Gesundheitsdienste, Dr. Hemantha Herath, sagte EconomyNext, dass bis zum 28. Februar 466.861 Menschen geimpft seien, während der Prozess in der westlichen Hochrisikoprovinz fortgesetzt wird.

"Wir haben nicht damit begonnen, Gebiete außerhalb der westlichen Provinz zu impfen, außer die Gesundheitspersonal und das Personal der Streitkräfte an der Front zu impfen", fügte er hinzu.

"Wir sind noch nicht in der Lage, die Öffentlichkeit zu decken, die wir in der westlichen Provinz identifiziert haben", sagte Herath.

Eine neue Sendung von 500.000 Dosen kam letzte Woche, so dass die Abteilung die Zahl der Impfungen auf die 700.000-Marke zu übertreffen.

Sri Lanka wird Mitte März und April nicht die erwartete Bilanz von 1 Million Dosen des COVISHIELD-Impfstoffs vom indischen Serum Institute erhalten, wie die Sunday Times erfährt.

In einem überraschenden Schreiben vom 3. März an die State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) hat das Serum Institute mitgeteilt, dass die Pläne für die Herstellung von Impfstoffen auf ein "Hindernis" gestoßen sind, das seine Fähigkeit beeinträchtigt, "Sie in naher Zukunft" zu liefern. Der Brief wurde von der Sunday Timesgesehen.

Sri Lanka hat etwa 5,25 US-Dollar pro Dosis für 1,5 Millionen Dosen bezahlt, von denen 500.000 Dosen in der letzten Februarwoche für das Impfprogramm der Gemeinschaft eingegangen sind.

Der Saldo von 1 Million Dosen sollte Mitte März und April nach Sri Lanka geliefert werden.

UNICEF liefert die erste Lieferung von 264.000 Dosen COVID-19 Impfstoffe nach Sri Lanka

07.03.07., Colombo: UNICEF hat am Sonntag im Rahmen der ersten Zuteilung der 1,44 Millionen Dosen COVID-19-Impfstoffe aus der COVAX-Fazilität an das Gesundheitsministerium Sri Lankas die erste Lieferung von 264.000 Dosen des AstraZeneca-Impfstoffs nach Sri Lanka beschafft und geliefert.

Ein Emirates Sky Cargo-Flug landete in den frühen Morgenstunden des Sonntags auf dem Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake mit den ersten 264.000 COVAX COVID19-Impfstoffen.

7 Wochen alter Säugling ist in LRH Colombo gestorben​

Ein 7 Wochen altes Kleinkind ist gestorben, als es auf der Intensivstation des Lady Ridgeway Krankenhauses in Colombo behandelt wurde.

Das besagte Kind soll aus Welimada stammen. Sie wurde zunächst krankheitsbedingt ins Krankenhaus Welimada eingeliefert und anschließend zur weiteren Behandlung ins Krankenhaus Badulla gebracht. Es wurde bestätigt, dass das Kind Covid-19 nach Tests dort angesteckt hatte.

Direktor des Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Dr. P. Wijesooriya in einem Pressebriefing heute (07) näher über den Tod des Säuglings erklärt.

"Die Mutter des Kindes wurde ebenfalls als COVID-positiv identifiziert und der Vater wird derzeit unter Quarantäne gestellt. Das Kind wurde am 5. dieses Monats gegen 3:00 Uhr in kritischem Zustand in das Lady Ridgeway Hospital eingeliefert und auf die Intensivstation überstellt", sagte er.
