So ist es.

Der Präsident der PHIs Union of Sri Lanka, Upul Rohana, sagte, dass die Bezirke Colombo, Gampaha und Kurunegala zu Hochrisikozonen für Covid 19 geworden sind. Er fügte hinzu, dass die Zahl der täglich positiven Fälle, die in diesen Bezirken gemeldet wurden, rapide zugenommen habe.

Zwei Ausländer unter den jüngsten COVID-Opfern​


Zwei Ausländer, die in Colombo lebten, gehören nach Angaben des Ministeriums für Regierungsinformationen ebenfalls zu den jüngsten Coronavirus-Opfern.

Das erste Opfer wurde als 46-jähriger Ausländer identifiziert, der sich in Colombo 02 aufhielt. Er wurde während einer Behandlung in einem Privatkrankenhaus in Colombo mit dem Covid-19-Virus infiziert und in das National Hospital Kandy verlegt, wo er am 24.04.2021 starb. Die Todesursache wird als Herz-Kreislauf-Stillstand nach COVID-Pneumonie genannt.

Das zweite Opfer ist auch ein 46-jähriger Mann, der in Rathgama wohnte. Er wurde während einer Behandlung im Teaching Hospital Karapitiya mit dem Covid-19-Virus infiziert und ins Base Hospital Homagama verlegt, wo er am 22.04.2021 starb. Die Todesursache wird als Covid Pneumonia und sekundäre bakterielle Infektion genannt.

 
Sri Lanka President urges public to strictly follow health instructions to fight COVID-19

Apr 25, Colombo:
Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today emphasized that in order to fight the current resurgence of COVID-19 in the country, the people must strictly follow all the rules and regulations recommended by the health authorities, as they did in the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Issuing a statement today, the President noted that the county cannot be locked down obstructing the economy. He said only a vaccine can end the COVID-19 pandemic and the government has a systematic and strong program in place to vaccinate the public.

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases total exceeds 100,000 as 895 new cases identified Saturday

According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 895 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Saturday exceeding the total number of cases 100,000 mark.
Among the positive cases identified Saturday are, 862 associates of the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster, 14 associates of Prison Cluster and 15 foreign arrivals.

Sri Lanka re-imposes mandatory 14-day quarantine for visitors, vaccinated visitors exempted

Sri Lanka has re-imposed the 14-day quarantine for the visitors to the country as number of Covid-19 cases sharply increased following the New Year celebrations.

The Quarantine period for visitors, returnees, & tourists to Sri Lanka from abroad will be extended for 14 days, said the Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said.

Bringing tourists to Sri Lanka will continue according to health instructions- Tourism Minister

Apr 26, Colombo:
Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga says that despite the current Covid epidemic, airport operations and tourist arrivals will continue following the instructions issued by the health sector.

He further stated that also despite the increase in the number of Covid infections, no decision has been taken so far to restrict the repatriation of Sri Lankans abroad.

177 arrested for violating quarantine laws

Apr 26, Colombo:
The Sri Lanka police have arrested 177 people on Sunday (25) for violating health regulations.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said 177 persons were arrested on charges of failing to wear face masks and maintain social distancing.
He said yesterday was the day the highest number of arrests made in a single day for violating quarantine regulations since the 30th of October.

Nuwara Eliya full of tourists amidst risk of Corona​

A large number of local tourists arrived in Nuwara Eliya from various areas of the island on 25 April as well, without taking into consideration the risk of the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

These tourists have arrived in Nuwara Eliya for the Spring Carnival organised by the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council.

A 4 x 4 jeep competition was held in the vicinity of Lake Gregory and there was a large crowd present to watch it. It was apparent how these visitors were enjoying themselves without following health advice.

Residents of Nuwara Eliya said that all holiday resorts in the city of Nuwara Eliya are overflowing with visitors.

Schools closed in Western and North Western Provinces until April 30

Apr 26, Colombo:
The government has decided to close all schools in the Western and North Western Provinces with immediate effect due the Covid-19 situation in the country, Minister of Education, Prof. GL Peiris said.

The schools will be closed this week due to the risk of coronavirus spreading, the Minister said.

Schools in Wellawaya, Pannala Education Zones will be closed

Apr 27, Colombo:
Steps have been taken to close all schools in the Wellawaya Education Zone until the 30th following reports of Covid infections in Wellawaya.

Out of 107 PCR tests conducted in the Wellawaya Medical Officer of Health Division recently, reports of 53 PCR tests have been received by the Health Division yesterday afternoon. Those test reports have found that 46 people were infected with Covid-19.

Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva announced that several areas in the Gampaha, Kalutara and Trincomalee Districts will be isolated from 08.00 pm Monday (26).

Following areas will be designated as newly isolated areas from 8.00 pm today (April 26).

Sri Lanka’s powerful doctors’ union, the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that Sri Lanka is facing a severe crisis due to the Covid epidemic and a large number of coronavirus infected patients are being found throughout the country.

Ja, der Test ist kostenlos und auch nicht freiwillig.
Diese Straßensperren sind keine öffentlichen Teststellen, so dass man hingehen könnte, wenn man einen Test machen möchte.
Es werden vielmehr zufällig Personen heraus gepickt und getestet, die aus der Westprovinz kommen.
