Coronavirus Update: Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 142

Mar 31, Colombo: The number of total confirmed COVID-19 coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka has risen to 142 according to the Health Promotion Bureau report at 7 pm today. Health authorities have confirmed that 20 more Coronavirus patients have been found since yesterday bringing the total active patients receiving treatment at hospitals to 123 while 173 individuals are hospitalized.

Curfew lifted in 19 districts for 8 hours

Apr 01, Colombo: The curfew in 19 districts was lifted at 6 this morning. According to the Presidential Secretariat, curfew will be imposed in those districts again at 2 pm. However, curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Kandy and Jaffna districts will remain in effect until further notice.

* Sri Lanka bittet dringend darum, bei Verdacht auf Corona einen Arzt telefonisch zu kontaktieren und nicht einfach ins Krankenhaus oder zum Arzt zu fahren. Das könnte u.U. als versuchter Totschlag ausgelegt werden. Die Patienten sollen dann abgeholt und entsprechend versorgt werden.

Fifteen intruders arrested inside national parks during curfew:Six rock pythons caught

The Department of Wildlife Conservation would take legal action against 15 persons, caught inside national parks, on Sunday, while they were closed for visitors, a spokesperson for the Department said.
Five suspects were arrested in the Yala National Park and ten others in parks in the Uva Province. The department had also been tipped off on poaching at Lunumgamwera National Park, she said.

The validity period of all types of visas issued to foreigners who are currently residing in Sri Lanka, has been extended till May 12, 2020 due to the spread of the Covid-19, the Immigration and Emigration Department said. Accordingly, the validity period of all types of visas had been extended for a period of 30 days from March 14 to April 12, 2020. The Department said that the procedure to pay the relevant visa fee and to get the visa endorsed in the Passport will be informed to the foreigners later. They have been informed to refrain from visiting the Department of Immigration and Emigration. “If they intend to leave the island during the aforementioned period; their journey will be facilitated by paying the relevant visa fee at the Airport without any penalty,” the Department said. The validity period of the acknowledgment issued for the applications already submitted to the Department of Immigration and Emigration to obtain visas, will also be extended for another period of 30 days till May 12, 2020. If any foreigner intend to leave the country during the given period, a request to obtain your passport along with a scan copy of the acknowledgment and the flight ticket should be sent.

An: Frankfurt (FRA) am 04.04. um 05:40 Uhr

Hierbei handelt es sich voraussichtlich um den letzten vom Auswärtigen Amt ab Sri Lanka organisierten Sonderflug.

Sie können den oben genannten Flug ab sofort ausschließlich über das Internet (www.condor.de) kaufen.

Hinweis zu weiteren Flugmöglichkeiten: Nach hiesigem Kenntnisstand besteht darüber hinaus die Möglichkeit, mit Fluggesellschaften wie Qatar Airways oder Sri Lankan (über London) nach Deutschland zu fliegen. Hierbei handelt es sich ausschließlich um rein kommerzielle Flüge bei stark reduziertem Flugplan. Die Botschaft hat keinen Einfluss auf die Häufigkeit dieser Flüge und deren Preisgestaltung.

Die Schweizer Botschaft Frau Giacometti hat mir eben Mitgeteilt, das der Condor Flug ab Colombo ganz sicher in Male zwischenlanden wird, damit weitere Rückkehrer aufgenommen werden können und weitere Zwischenlandung nicht auszuschliessen sind. Abflug nach wie vor wieder um 22:30Uhr, da zwischenzeitlich Abflug um 20:50Uhr angesetzt worden ist!

Zudem wurde mitgeteilt, dass erhebliche Schwierigkeiten bestehen, die Rückkehrer an den Flughafen Colombo zu bringen, da dass „Gerücht“ gestreut wird, die Fahrer müssen danach 14 Tage in Colombo in Quarantäne. Das sei nicht so. Beiliegend das Schreiben der Regierung. Leider können aber sehr viele Polizisten nicht Englisch lesen.

Daher: Mein Bruder wird mit unserem Fahrer um ca. 14Uhr von Ahangama abfahren. Wir hätten noch Platz für 2 Personen (3) mit Kind, welche wir sonst aufnehmen könnten!! Fahrt via Galle, Hikkaduwa etc. Kurzentschlossen und quickly...

Sri Lanka reports fourth COVID-19 coronavirus death

Apr 02, Colombo: Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe a short while ago confirmed the death of a fourth patient contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus in Sri Lanka. The deceased is a 58-year old male receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Colombo. He has died of worsening of pneumonia from the infection.
